New(ish) Piece

This is a piece I finished before the beginning of the summer but didn't get around to shooting until now. It's a sculpture called "Action : Interaction" and was created using wet felted wool and nuno felted wool. It's about 7 feet long and 2 feet wide in total. There are no substructures in the wool; they hold their shape due to the many layers of wool. There are felted ropes under the top bat of wool that give the piece a visceral quality. I wanted to express some thoughts about communication, especially as it relates to family relationships. Also, check out the time lapse video to see the making....
