Ahhhh the view from our room. In Fort Lauderdale for a few days for our friends Corey and Alicia's beach wedding.

Patrick Dougherty

Wednesday, June 17, 2015

I braved the heat this morning to assist Patrick Dougherty with his newest installation at the Cape Fear Botanical Garden in Fayetteville. There were a lot of volunteers stripping leaves and weaving the saplings into what I'm describing as an undulating maze. The work should be wrapped up by Friday and it's going to stand for two years. Incredible!

Collection

Tuesday, June 16, 2015

I collected all of these fun goodies while in Africa and they look great in the hand carved bowl I bought in Namibia.

Money

Added 10 Rand and 10 Namibian dollars to our souvenir money pile.

Justin's Induction

At Omujeve, if a hunter manages to kill 10 or more animals they are inducted into the Wacker's Club.

Nakara Factory

I got to see a behind the scenes tour of the Nakara factory and I bought a stunning Springbok handbag.

Camel Thorn Tree

Goofing around in front of a camel thorn tree. I collected a sack full of the seed pods - very interesting shape with a velvety texture.

Skeleton Coast

A fun flight in a Cessna to see the ship wrecks, whale bones, seals, sand dunes, and old diamond mines along the Skeleton Coast of the Namib Desert.

Camels

Esau and Muhammad, our rides through the Namib Desert.
