I did a little felting last week using Merino wool. Merinos, sheep from Spain, Australia and New Zealand, are regarded as having the finest and softest wool of any sheep. Basically, you just take the wool and agitate it using your hands and some dish soap. I also acid dyed the black before I felted it into the natural colored wool. Initially, I was thinking of creating a wearable scarf, but I really like it as a wall piece. I'm planning to go back into it with some red stitching.
My very pregnant studio mate Amanda gave me a hand in the project. She gave birth to a healthy baby boy about two days later.
