Everyone Has a Story...

After covering my accordion book "The Language of Nature" in beeswax, I realized it would be too fragile to send to the Brooklyn Art Library for this year's sketchbook project. So I decided to make another one. This book includes an excerpt from the Narrative of Sojourner Truth in which she, a 17th century slave, describes her powerful encounter with God. With the text, I combined imagery that expressed my thoughts on the indescribable vastness of God. I opted for a non-assuming cover and coptic binding which allows the book to lay flat when open. I'll be sending the book to NY this week.
