Finally at the embellishing portion of our wire sculptures- bout to get real! Usually I work with hog intestines to cover my wire forms but for these classes I took a different approach and used fabric and tissue paper. Also experimenting with stitching using waxed linen thread to bring out the "ribs" of the piece.

Super excited to be an instructor for the Tennessee Arts Academy this summer. So many amazing students. These are high school art teachers getting a chance to learn new things to take back into their classrooms. This week we are creating sculptures that are loosely narrative. They will create work that represents themselves as an individual and together each piece makes up an installation.
