Pick of the Week
Monday, May 4, 2009
Sorry I haven't had the chance to keep up with these special offers. Grad school is keeping me hopping, that's for sure. But ahhhh, the summer months are finally here. Don't think for a second that I won't be just as productive in my own studio at ACME. For now though, I'd like to offer this recently completed sculptural wall piece as this week's pick. For a limited time, "Emerging Surfaces 3" can be yours for only $350. I created this Mixed media piece using handcut and sanded PVC pipe, epoxy resin, and acrylic paint. It is 24" x 12" x 4". A one-of-a-kind original!

Dinosaur Masks
My studio mates challenged me to do some dinosaur masks for two special little boys. So, this weekend I sculpted these three styles. A little playful for the kid in all of us. The one with the bumpy horn glows in the dark, and all three masks feature teeth that glow in the dark. The last two masks are both one single piece of leather. I was able to get the three-dimensional aspect of it by folding and shaping the leather while it was wet. All three are of course hand painted.
