Alligator Bites

Emily and I tried some alligator for the first time today and I'll say it was pretty tasty. Of course nothing beats the fried oysters though!

Thanksgiving Day

Well we enjoyed a huge turkey that Jen and Zach raised on the farm and then mom gave out early Christmas gifts that dad brought back from a recent trip to Kyrgyzstan. Food, folks and fun.

Experiment: caul fat

So I'm experimenting with a new material called caul fat which looks like lace, stinks a little bit, but will hopeful dry to a point that I can sew or stitch on it. I had a tough time finding it but luckily Wells Meats in Burgaw harvested some for me during a recent slaughter. Stay tuned...
