Here are two new encaustic paintings. They are both about 18x18 inches. I did one yesterday and one today. Both have dyed, rusted, or sewn layers of fabric.
Garden in Progress
So far the Japanese Maple is in place and the three tiered rock fountain is finished. We built it ourselves!! I still can't believe it works ha ha.
Fronts Piece
Wednesday, April 18, 2012
This is what I've been working on these last few days. This is the front of the house. There will be a stone fountain and a Japanese maple later this week. It was completely flat ground at first and then we added a truck load of stone and another truckload of dirt.

Enjoyed going to see the encaustic work of Wilmington artists Michelle Connolly and Colleen Ringrose at Gallery 621N4TH.
Cells
Thursday, April 12, 2012
This is my newest installation titled "Cells". It's about 12 feet wide, 4 feet tall, and 4-5 inches deep. The materials are gut, wire, and paper. The piece was visually inspired by bee cells and conceptually inspired by the idea of new beginnings.

Enchanted Garden

I've been working on my vegetable garden today. Just laying stone and designing the shape. Whew! I'm tired. But this does look pretty.
Serve
Everybody can be great. Because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve.... You don't have to know the second theory of thermodynamics in physics to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love. ~Martin Luther King, Jr.
Bookmaking Workshop
