I'm just putting the finishing touches on a book I made for the Brooklyn Art Library. Today we dipped it in wax and used a heat gun to smooth the wax out more. I used so many processes on this piece it's crazy. It's very fragile too. More photos and details to come...

This is another book I made this week. This one is leather bound with red stitching. I attached an old lock piece to the leather with rivets, and created a clasp by tying together some bones from my fox bone collection. I also used teeth, shells, and wooden beads as an extra surprise inside. I made use of the irregular, natural edge of the leather for the wrap around cover. Pretty awesome!

This is an example book I've been working on for my upcoming bookmaking class. The cover is a coffee bean sack. Pretty cool.

This week I've been working on some fabric covered journals in preparation for a bookmaking workshop I'm doing at the Checker Cab Gallery in downtown Wilmington. It's on February 25 from 10-6 pm and there's only 10 spaces available. Drop me an email for more information or check out this LINK.
