In Chicago tonight for the opening of the newly renovated Adler Planetarium. Here's a photo of the "space portal" that my aunt Bev and late uncle Dick funded. Wow, what an amazing experience the show was. One of the guest speakers was astronaut Jim Lovell.

Feminine Perspective 2011, curated by gallery owner Beth Thomas
I'm pleased to be part of this exhibition again. 30 Women artists will be displaying their art. This is the fourth Annual Show, and it promises to be just as good as years past. My piece is called "Umbilical" and is about 5 x 2ft. It's made by hand dying and wet felting wool. I blended the wool by carding it then created openings and pockets by sewing in plastic resists during the felting process. I also added a dimensional effect using felted ropes. The words are added by screenprinting handwritten letters onto silk and nuno felting them in.
The exhibition runs through July 31 with an opening reception on Friday, July 1 at 5:00pm
