I just found out that I won a cash prize for Innovation in the Adroit Textiles/Metals exhibition!! I entered two pieces, "Fragile Dwelling" and my huge sculptural piece: "That Which is Empty, May Be Filled", and I exhibited it along side the time lapse video of me making it.
I have two pieces in the Material Topics Intercollegiate Exhibition, both of which I made last semester while in Bob Ebendorf's Material Culture class. Everything I made in the class was experimental, especially since I've never really made any jewelry or wearable pieces - other than masks of course. The pieces are made of wet formed and dyed leather, and rusted silk organza (all handstitched).

Here are a few of my other wearable pieces using leather and found objects:
This semester starts off with a BANG. I'll have a couple of my pieces in Adroit, which promises to be a great exhibition. What a great way to catch up with everyone after the holidays.
My sister taught me to crochet a couple of weeks ago and now I'm "hooked". It's so cold outside, and so cozy and quiet inside my little nest. There's nothing I'd rather be doing this evening than curling up on the couch with my hubby, my pups, a warm mug of tea, and a ball of yarn....
