More Coiling
Thursday, April 15, 2010
This is my latest adventure in coiling. I must say, this is a time
consuming activity but I'm enjoying it. I started out by rusting
fabric and tearing it into long thin strips. I'm also incorporating
vines into it to give the illusion that the vines are the core. This
organically shaped vessel will be about two feet wide and three feet
tall when finished.
Coiling Experiments
Lately I've been doing a little coiling in my dimensional weaving class. This is a study, in which I used clear tubing filled with bird seed as the core, and coiled it with sinew. Fun.
