New Items at FMOA

I have some new items for sale at the Fayetteville Museum of Art's shop. Just in time for the new exhibition opening on November 7, you'll find three types of tote bags. These totebags are all screenprinted by hand with one of my original Fern Print designs. The bags are all earth friendly, organic cotton or hemp and come in three sizes. They are priced at $25 each.

Finding Beauty in an Empty Nest

I made this print from a nest given to me by the pre-school class at the school where I used to teach art. This is a limited edition, handpulled screenprint done on archival paper, suitable for framing. $150 each. Please email me if interested in making a purchase in time for Christmas.

Guardian Angel

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the lord my soul to keep,
thy angels watch me through the night,
And keep me safe till morning's light.



This is a project I'm working on in which I have screenprinted the poem/prayer "Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep" onto a pillowcase. The text was screenprinted twice in two different colors, then another print of the silhouette, then the line drawing of the guardian angel. This was quite a project. I experimented with different colors and sizes of paper and different ways to distress the pillowcases using dyes, inks and tea stains. I will display the final piece as it is seen in the above photo, hung on clothes line, attached by clothes pins. So far I have done about 5 pillowcases. These are gallery pieces meant to be wall hangings, not commercial prints to be slept on. Overall, I think the piece is pretty effective. I will be posting these on my Etsy shop soon. Each is a one-of-a-kind original. They are like snowflakes or fingerprints -- similar, but no two alike.

Wheel Banners

I have been working on a three-color wheel banner screenprinting project for the last couple of weeks and I'm finally finished. For anyone interested, I'm selling them for $250 each and I can customize the colors. Check out the time lapse video to see how I did them. Adjust your volume level as needed.

Cards and Totes

I was asked to design some new cards and totes to sell in the gift shop at the Fayetteville Museum of Art. I engaged the task with my usual enthusiasm and produced a ton of cool wares. The 6"x8" notecards are a two-color silkscreened floral print. I actually grew the flowers last summer and took some photos while they were in full bloom. It made for a wonderful print. I decided on six colors (pink, blue, orange, yellow, purple, and silver - my personal favorite) and printed them on cream-colored handmade Italian paper, which I'll be selling individually and in sets of six (envelopes included). The canvas totes come in two sizes, three designs and several color combinations. Most are a one-color silkscreen, but I tried out a few with the card design. Of course I burn all my own screens using photo emulsion in a little dark room I have set up in my studio, and I pull all my own prints. These will be available for sale starting March 14th during the Museum's next exhibition opening reception, and until they sell out. Get them while supplies last...
